Troy, I'm a little late getting over here. I love collaboration, I love your writing and I appreciate you including me in this esteemed list of writers. My mind is blown, thank you!
OK, so I liked this post before on my phone and I come back here on my puter and the heart was not filled! The horror! Does this ever happen to you? :-O
Oh gosh, thank you for the shout out! And what a lovely post. Substack MUST be legit since the NYT cites them in articles? Although it's a great place for us fiction writers too. Thank you for your wonderful newsletter and for your support. 😊

Hear, hear!
Beautifully said, Troy.
I think (hope) with time more people will come around to the paid subscription model not only because they value good writing and the people that craft it, but also because the other capitalist/advertising/doom-scrolling/propaganda model is just wearing a little thin.
May us Substack writers live long and prosper ;)
Thanks Troy,
And by the way:
“... the sum of our knowledge little more than an endless generational game of Telephone.” — love it!
Brilliantly said, Tom. Having you and a small group of other brilliant writers as dedicated readers of my work each week is incredibly meaningful, and it keeps me going. I'm so happy you're moving Ford Knows in a direction where you'll publish your fiction regularly. I think you and I and so many other writers have been holding out for so long, our backs pressed against the back wall of the gym, hoping to be picked by team -- a publisher who would anoint us as bonified authors. I got tired of waiting last year and made the plunge to stop querying "The Memory of My Shadow" and to release it on Substack. You were among the first not just to read it but to devour it each week and give me thoughtful feedback. That was more validation than I could have ever hoped for.
Oh Troy! Yes yes yes yes yes! I'm jumping up and down and scaring my cat at the moment. Never have I ever been so delighted, stunned really, by the bounty, warmth, sincerity and insight of the Substack community. Writers reading writers is as good as it gets. And now I'm just noticing how you describe your Friday deliveries, "a fruit basket with fur..." May all your fans and friends reciprocate this abundance tenfold. A fur basket full of fruit. A furry fruit in a basket. A basket full of fruity fur. And more. Peace good human. You are so appreciated.
Thank you for the little push, Troy. Looking forward to more great writing in 2024.

Right on! Always love your perspective
Oh, to float above that big dark pool and just dip my toe... wait, didn’t I dream about this?
So bloody lovely of you Mr. Troy. 🤝🩵
I adore you my dearest! And I agree, writers have been here the most engaged readers of all. I am grateful for you! 🥰❤️
Troy! This is such a lovely message -- both about payment and the community.
Are you referencing DFW This is Water?
This group of writers is a lifeline. I am constantly learning, motivated, and encouraged by many on your list. Thank you!
