Congratulations on a year, Troy! And congratulations on the success of FORD KNOWS, it is much deserved.
It’s been wonderful reading your hilarious, insightful, genuine, and deeply entertaining pieces ever since I came across your Substack. And I look forward to reading much more in the future :)
I am so glad I found you here Troy, it has enriched my life, your writing and outlook are a breath of reality and fresh air. Congratulations on the success of Ford Knows. I look forward to reading about your adventures in designland. It is SO far from my little, rural mountain life that I love to live vicariously.
I am unable to do polls on Substack. It's a frustrating glitch that seems unique to my account. I vote for Qstack and I think trying to create that category is much needed. Well done.
I feel the same, Donna - it's been wonderful getting to know you - "surround yourself with kind people" as they say - lovely to be shoulder to shoulder with you. Thanks for everything! 💙💜❤️
Happy Anniversary my friend. What a year. I am amazed, inspired and intimidated by how much you’ve crammed into it--and I’m excited for what this new year holds for you, and our motley gang of writing folk on this here corner of the internet! So happy to have found you. And so impressed that Lamb is, as yet, unfinished! 😱 You and Ben the Godfather have balls of steel 😂 💗💚💛🧡❤️
Thank you, my dear - it has been an adventure for all of us - it is funny how we stumble upon each other, there must be some sort of frequency tuned to "friend" that we pick up. 💙💚💛 I'm writing Lamb in realish time, but I do have a sense of his trajectory because it was another story, originally, that wasn't working - the main character was all wrong, and I just couldn't get into it, but then Lamb popped out of some cake or other, and the arc was ready made for him.🙂
Congratulations! What an outstanding year, Troy. I always enjoy reading your work and am constantly struck by both your wonderful, warm voice and the unique experiments of your prose. Good luck with all the projects to come!
Happy anniversary, Troy! 🥳🎉🥳🎉 I am so grateful for having connected with you here. We are kindred souls indeed. I look forward to every word you write, and here's to many more years to come!
Congratulations dear friend on your Stackaversary! Substack is rich with you in it. And oh my goodness, how unexpected and delightful--I'm so happy I won a book of your most exquisite tastes. Thank you so much! I'm thrilled to be reading more by you in the years to come. For the poll question, I think GayStack sounds the best! Everybody understands what it means and what and who it includes. Much love and many hugs! :-*
Thank you my dear, my first friend here - so glad you won! And now I'm leaning back toward GAYstack - it's not "exclusive" - it's clear - why not? 🌈🤗🎉 Look out for my email ❤️🍊💛💚💙💜
Stack besties! It truly is clear. One can't tell what QStack is. Is it some kind of Qult? I'm joking. Thank you so much for your wonderful generosity. It's super fun to have won a fabulous book! :-* <3
Oh! I never even thought about the QAnon thing, I'm going to say the real plot there was co-opting the Q from Queer, but either way, definitely leaning GAY now...
Well, I was just joshing around. ;-) It would be a stretch for people to think this. Whatever you choose, I'm sure it's going to be fine. But yes, you got my vote for gay!
Congo Rats and Calibrations! I mean, huzzah and well done, brother! One year of Substack! Wow. Been a wild ride? But you’re just getting started! Lambs to the slaughter! All the lambs! 😁
Congratulations, Troy! What a year! Your Substack was an instant-subscribe for me after reading something incredibly witty (I forget which post, but it brought a smile to my face and elicited actual out-loud laughter, which is a rare thing for me when reading 😉) and your posts have become one of my weekly pleasures.
I love what you're doing with "D" and LAMB, it's so so good.
Thanks Nathan - I appreciate you and your friendship enormously, and I meant what I said - hugely inspired by your writing, it revealed a path forward for me. Onward! 🚀🌠💜
1 year, time flies! The serial format is interesting. I have no trouble at all following yours. I know what's going on and keep connected from one post to the other. Writing a serial is not easy. There is one other writer on Substack who does a great job with it (Ben Woestenburg) - he has several serials going on at the same time. I have mixed feelings about another one, from a friend, it's a time travel thing with hops between years and people, and I don't think the format works for that. It gets too confusing. Congrats, Troy!
Thanks Martine - yes, the serial format is a whole different animal, but for Substack I think it works - and for me, better than breaking up a trad novel and posting chapters. The constraint of sticking with my unofficial rule of less than 10 min reads has taught me brevity, for sure. Glad to have you here!

Thank you so much, Michael! I've never been friends with a platypus before, but now I recommend it to everyone... 😘🤗⭐

Thanks Jeffrey, me too - it's delightful being a citizen of the ERoL, my ink and quill are poised and ready... 😃
